is a native of Iowa and received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of
Oklahoma. He spent four years as an officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps,
including two tours in Vietnam with the SEABEES. He became registered to practice
architecture in California in 1976. Rick is involved in the firm's marketing, planning,
design and client relations. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Rick has been involved
in community activities throughout his career. He has served as president of TIPS Club of
San Diego, Center City Optimist Club, Christmas in April * San Diego, and La Jolla Golden
Triangle Rotary Club and has been a member of the board of the North County Division of
the Building Industry.

I am semi-retired...would probably consider a project if the client were at least as cool as I am, he said modestly!! I was planning on building a new house here in Palm Springs - I had even finished the Construction Documents, just about the time the economy collapsed...so will probably sit it out in my Mid-Century Rancher. These days I'm doing more writing than anything else - just finished a lecture at the Palm Springs Museum on one of the local Mid-Century Masters: William F. Cody...you can Google him for a little background. Otherwise, I'm just a diet and health nut that is trying to hang on to life for a few more years. Cheers, Patrick

4/23/2007 After living my whole life in Oklahoma, Pat and I have relocated in Connecticut. Our son Dale (OU Architecture Class of 89) is developing a luxury condominium project for the Catamount Ski Resort near Copake, NY. I am helping him with the architecture and contractor negotiations. I also found Cliff Stockman (Class of 66) hanging out in nearby Nashua, NH. He has joined in with me to assist. It has been a pleasure to renew our friendship and work together again.
